We've designed throughout the Cave Creek and Carefree foothills, from Carefree Foothills and Grand View Estates to the homes tucked around Black Mountain and The Boulders. It's some of the most beautiful desert in Arizona to design for: big lots, big views, boulder outcroppings, and night skies you can actually see. Out here, the desert isn't a backdrop. It's the whole point, and we design homes that live in conversation with it.

The architecture we love here: The range out here is part of the magic. On one project, a hacienda-style home, you enter through a gorgeous courtyard full of desert plants and fountains, then follow a path to a front door tucked quietly away. On another, the interior was strikingly modern, yet it suited the desert beautifully, with wide windows framing Black Mountain and the Sonoran desert beyond. Both leaned into a true desert palette: warm neutrals with small touches of aloe green, sky blue, and rust. Whether your home is hacienda, Territorial adobe, or desert-modern, we design interiors that feel of the desert, never a generic Southwestern template.

Designing for desert living: The best part of designing out here is planning for how you actually live in the desert, especially at night. Cave Creek and Carefree nights are made for stargazing, so we plan exterior spaces around them: a double outdoor chaise to lie back on, a firepit to gather around, and covered patios that blur the line between inside and out. Indoors, we frame the mountain views and let the light and the landscape lead.

Who we work with: Our clients here tend to be building or reimagining custom homes on larger lots. They want a designer who can make the most of the views, the privacy, and the desert setting without falling back on clichés.

Local flavor (we're out here too): We're not designing this area from a distance. You'll find us having a glass of wine at Brix, recovering at Civana, and at Harold's for Sunday brunch (a weekly tradition for Mackenzie and her brother). Her daughter loves dressing up for tea at the English Rose Tea Room, and on Saturday nights you might catch the family at Big Earl's for the drive-in movies (we'll miss the current spot when they move).
